Job summary

WM Advisory Services is seeking a sustainability-focused Data Analyst II to own defined data and GHG accounting workstreams across customer engagements. You will manage data collection, verify emissions calculations, and translate results into dashboards and actionable decarbonization insights.

The role requires applying GHG Protocol guidance, engaging data owners, and delivering defensible, scalable data products across multiple projects with increasing independence.

Qualifications

• Must live and work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Business or related fields

Responsibilities

• Own defined data collection, management, analysis, and reporting workstreams from planning through customer-ready delivery with minimal supervision.
• Apply the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 2/3 guidance to establish boundaries and maintain defensible calculations.
• Help customers translate objectives into practical collection strategies, including source mapping and data-owner identification.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to request information, clarify assumptions, resolve gaps, and document decisions.
• Collect, clean, reconcile, transform, and organize large datasets with traceability to source records.
• Develop and maintain repeatable data workflows, calculation models, data dictionaries, and QA/QC checks.
• Calculate Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions with approved factors and methodologies.
• Assess data quality, identify anomalies, and escalate material risks to leadership.
• Perform research on GHG accounting methods and decarbonization practices to inform analyses.
• Analyze inventory results to identify emission sources, trends, and reduction opportunities.
• Prepare customer-ready tables, inventories, dashboards, reports, and methodology documents.
• Support customer meetings with data requests and presentations, capturing decisions and action items.
• Manage timelines and deliverables, flag risks, and propose next steps.
• Identify improvements to templates, templates, workflows, and reporting for scalability.
• Maintain organized project files for auditability and compliance.
• Support third-party verification by organizing source records and evidence.
