Job summary

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking a Climate Change Policy Specialist to work on mitigation and adaptation projects within the Climate and Sustainability Section. The role supports the Delaware Climate Action Plan, develops public-facing dashboards, conducts policy research, and assists with outreach and local government resilience initiatives.

Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS) and Power BI is strongly desired.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in conducting research.
• Six months experience using standard computer software for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
• Knowledge of climate change, environmental, and/or clean transportation policies.
• Knowledge of interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze policies, data and information.
• Evaluate costs, benefits, and consequences of environmental and transportation policies.
• Develop forms, spreadsheets, records and reports to document progress of adaptation recommendations.
• Coordinate between agencies for meetings, site visits and data needs.
• Demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
