Job summary

State of Delaware's DNREC Climate and Sustainability Section seeks a Climate Change Policy Specialist to work on mitigation and adaptation projects, including supporting the Delaware Climate Action Plan, dashboard reporting, policy research, and outreach initiatives.

The role involves data analysis, policy development, inter-agency coordination, and building electrification and environmental justice considerations. GIS and Power BI skills are highly desired for reporting and visualization.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in conducting research.
• Six months experience using standard software for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
• Knowledge of climate change, environmental, and/or clean transportation policies.
• Knowledge of interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze policies, data and information.
• Evaluate costs, benefits, and consequences of environmental and transportation policies.
• Develop forms, spreadsheets, records and reports to document progress of adaptation recommendations.
• Coordinate between agencies for meetings, site visits and data needs.
• Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
