Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Help Desk/Desktop Technician responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows PCs, printers, and peripherals. You will mentor junior staff, participate in IT project initiatives, and document system configurations and procedures.

The role requires 2+ years in desktop support, a Bachelor’s in IT or related field (preferred), and familiarity with Windows 10 and SCCM.

Qualifications

• Perform advanced problem analysis for complex client issues beyond Help Desk scope.
• Lead or participate in strategic IT projects as assigned by Help Desk Manager.

• In depth understanding of the configuration, installation and maintenance of various network attached devices and services. (Required proficiency)
• Strong interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills ability to document operational procedures, system configurations, and architectural design diagrams. (Required proficiency)
• Print Server Administration skills. (Preferred proficiency)
• Microsoft SCCM Administration skills. (Preferred proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• A+ Certification - COMPTIA Preferred

What you will do

• Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot PCs, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals in a timely, professional manner.
• Research and test new technology and make recommendations to the organization on future/proposed technology initiatives.
• Provides instruction & mentorship to Help Desk staff.
• Performance & troubleshooting analysis of the most difficult client problems that are typically not able to be resolved at the Help Desk.
• Participates in or leads strategic projects as assigned by Help Desk Manager.
• Perform related duties as assigned by Help Desk Manager.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the Help Desk Tech training process.
• Assist in the setup and administration of our Windows and Epic print environment.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation essential for Help Desk training and operations.
• Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.

Travel Requirements

• 5% Occasionally travel to off-campus clinic locations spread out across NE Kansas
