Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• Experience in a legal or settlement coordination role in a law firm.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with settlement processes and client disbursements.
• Ability to explain complex processes to clients.
• Proficiency with legal/accounting software to manage disbursements.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the distribution of settlement funds to clients and others.
• Review settlement agreements and confirm accurate disbursements.
• Maintain detailed records of all disbursements.
• Communicate with clients about the disbursement process.
• Collaborate with the settlement team and attorneys to obtain signatures and documents.
• Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards.
• Assist with creating and managing disbursement journals and related records.
• Troubleshoot issues related to settlement distributions.
