Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center in Orchard Park, NY is seeking a Client Service Representative to provide a welcoming experience from check-in to check-out while supporting the veterinary team with scheduling, communications, and front desk tasks. Ideal candidates are organized, dependable, and enjoy working with people in a fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary setting.

Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required; compensation ranges from $18 to $21 per hour with shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of receptionist or customer service experience; veterinary or medical office experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning veterinary practice management software.
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system, perform clerical tasks, and process payments.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and veterinary terminology, or willingness to learn.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate, professional, and passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their owners.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories, vaccination records, and complete required paperwork.
• Support the veterinary team by directing medical questions to licensed technicians or veterinarians when appropriate.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Assist with training new team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Additional Information

We offer our staff

Compensation: $18.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience.

Shift Differential: Additional shift differential pay is offered for hours worked between 6:00 PM–12:00 AM and 12:00 AM–6:00 AM.

Pre-Employment Requirements: As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and urine toxicology screening through HealthWorks before becoming eligible for hire.
