Job summary

The City of New York’s NYC Department of Social Services (Family Independence Administration) seeks a Clerical Associate III to serve as a Client Services Representative at 2400 Fulton Street, Brooklyn. Under the Front Door Reception Supervisor, you will route visitors and explain the services offered by HRA, including public assistance, SNAP and Medicaid.

You will greet clients, hand out application kits, assist with navigating Access HRA, review documents for urgency or accommodations, and

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
• Typing at a minimum of 100 keystrokes per minute.
• 55a Program eligibility noted; indicate interest on resume/cover letter.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients with utilization of universal kiosks, directing them to the appropriate unit within BAC, SNAP, Medicaid offices and other HRA services.
• Interact with visitors to determine the correct program unit for routing, assign passes, and explain service locations.
• Provide Cash Assistance, Medicaid and SNAP Application Kits; assist with Access HRA portal navigation and preliminary household member entries.
• Review appointment letters and documents to determine emergencies or reasonable accommodations for quick service.
• Assist applicants with scanning and uploading documents and troubleshoot copy machines and printers.
• Issue Model Office tickets in PC Banks for in-person interviews; involve a supervisor when needed.
