Job summary

The City of New York's Family Independence Administration seeks Clerical Associate III to serve as Client Services Representative at 2400 Fulton Street, Brooklyn. You will greet visitors, route them to HRA services, and explain available programs such as Public Assistance, SNAP, Medicaid, and other client-facing services.

Qualifications

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Typing speed of at least 100 keystrokes (20 words) per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients with utilization of universal kiosks to direct them to the appropriate unit within BAC, SNAP, Medicaid offices and other HRA client-facing services.
  • Interact with visitors seeking services from multiple program units; determine the appropriate program unit for routing purposes and assign passes to enter designated areas.
  • Distribute Cash Assistance, Medicaid and SNAP Application Kits; assist with navigating the Access HRA portal and remind applicants to include all household members in the online application.
  • Review appointment letters, court papers, and documents to determine if there is an emergency or need for reasonable accommodation.
  • Assist applicants with scanning and uploading documents; troubleshoot usage of copy machines and printers in Document Drop Box area.
  • Issue Model Office tickets for in-person interviews and seek supervisor help if questions arise regarding eligibility for benefits.
