Job description

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency focusing on issues critical to the region's success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults, and workforce solutions. ARC aims to unify the region's resources to prepare for a prosperous future through professional planning initiatives, objective information, and community involvement in collaborative partnerships.

The Client Services Liaison is responsible for tasks related to the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), assisting citizens seeking community support and services in the Atlanta area. Responsibilities include information and referral counseling, intake, screening for programs such as the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program and the Home and Community-Based Services Program, and providing consultation to older adults, caregivers, individuals with disabilities, and the general public about available resources. The role also involves generating client reports, liaising with community organizations, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This position is fully remote after the introductory period, with occasional in-office requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Provide consultation to determine program eligibility, assess client needs, and perform intake and screening;
  2. Research resources to meet client needs, make referrals, and connect clients with services;
  3. Document interactions and assessments in the client management system;
  4. Collaborate with community partners to facilitate access to services;
  5. Follow up with clients to ensure appropriate receipt of resources and achievement of outcomes;
  6. Perform other duties to support agency goals.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, gerontology, or related field;
  • One year of related experience in counseling, client advocacy, or information/referral services;
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in social work, gerontology, or related field.

Special Requirements :

  • Criminal background check required.

Licensing Requirements :

  • Must meet state requirements to become a certified AIRS Specialist within one year of employment and maintain certification annually.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies :

  • Knowledge of social service resources, aging network, long-term care services, Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and Medicaid waiver programs;
  • Active listening, rapport building, attention to detail, confidentiality, research skills, organization, time management, communication, collaboration, and proficiency in database and Microsoft Office Suite.
