Job description

Job Title: Client Services Liaison

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency focusing on critical issues such as growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults, and workforce solutions. ARC aims to unify the region’s resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future through professional planning, objective information, and community collaboration.

The Client Services Liaison is responsible for tasks related to the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), assisting citizens seeking community support and services in the Atlanta region. Responsibilities include information and referral counseling, intake, and screening for the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program and the Home and Community-Based Services Program. The role involves providing consultation via telephone and face-to-face to older adults, caregivers, individuals with disabilities, and the general public about available options and resources, both public and private, including home and community-based services.

This position is fully remote after the initial onboarding period, with occasional in-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide consultation to determine program eligibility and assess client needs using a person-centered approach;
  2. Conduct research to identify suitable resources and make referrals to clients and caregivers;
  3. Document interactions, assessments, needs, referrals, and outcomes in the client management system;
  4. Collaborate with community partners to facilitate access to services;
  5. Follow-up with clients to ensure receipt and appropriateness of resources and to achieve desired outcomes;
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned to support agency goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, gerontology, or related field;
  • At least one year of related counseling, client advocacy, or information/referral experience in areas such as mental health, aging, or disability services;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, gerontology, or a related field.
Additional Requirements
  • Subject to criminal background check;
  • Meet state requirements to become a certified AIRS Specialist within one year of employment and maintain certification annually.

  • Knowledge of social service resources, aging network, long-term care services, Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and Medicaid waiver programs;
  • Active listening and rapport-building skills;
  • Attention to detail, confidentiality, and record-keeping skills;

  • Time management, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Collaboration and partnership development skills;
  • Proficiency in database technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
