Job description

Job Title: Client Services Liaison

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency focusing on critical regional issues such as growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults, and workforce solutions. ARC aims to unify the region’s resources to prepare for a prosperous future through professional planning, objective information, and community collaboration.

The Client Services Liaison is responsible for tasks related to the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), assisting citizens seeking community support and services in the Atlanta region. Responsibilities include information and referral counseling, intake and screening for the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program, and the Home and Community-Based Services Program. This role provides consultation via phone and face-to-face to older adults, caregivers, individuals with disabilities, and the public, offering information on public and private resources and services.

This position is fully remote after the initial period, with occasional in-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide telephone or face-to-face consultations to assess program eligibility and client needs, using a person-centered approach;
  2. Research and identify appropriate resources, making referrals and connecting clients and caregivers with services;
  3. Document all client interactions in the management system, including assessments, needs, referrals, and outcomes;
  4. Collaborate with community partners to facilitate access to services;
  5. Follow up with clients to ensure receipt and appropriateness of resources and achievement of outcomes;
  6. Perform additional duties to support agency goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, gerontology, or a related field;
  • At least one year of related counseling, client advocacy, or information/referral experience in aging or disability services;
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in social work, gerontology, or related field;
Special Requirements:
  • Criminal background check clearance;
Licensing:
  • Meet state requirements to become a certified AIRS Specialist within one year of employment and maintain certification annually.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of social service resources, aging network, long-term care services, Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and Medicaid waiver programs;
  • Active listening, rapport-building, confidentiality, research, organization, and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in database technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
