Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative in Gaithersburg, MD. The role is full-time, Monday through Thursday from 8am to 6pm, with no evenings or weekends. Pay ranges from $23 to $25 per hour based on skills and experience.

You’ll be the first voice for pet owners, manage a multi-line phone system, schedule visits, assist with client records and payments, and help create a calm, welcoming front-desk experience in a veterinary setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service, receptionist, or front desk experience in a veterinary setting is required.
• Comfort with computers, scheduling software, and handling payments.
• A warm, caring presence and strong organization skills when the day gets busy.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets at the front desk and help them feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
• Answer a multi-line phone system with a friendly, professional, and efficient approach.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, follow up on missed visits, and enter new client information accurately.
• Keep clients updated on wait times and delays.
• Answer basic questions about pet care and routine procedures.
• Process invoices and payments, including cash, credit card, Scratchpay, and CareCredit.
• Relay phone, email, and fax messages promptly and keep client records up to date.
• Keep the reception area clean, stocked, and running smoothly using daily checklists.
