Job description

Sheridan Pet Care is not just another veterinary clinic! We are a bond-centered, relationship-based practice built on connection, compassion, and community impact.

We are seeking a full-time Client Service Coordinator (CSR) to be the welcoming face and voice of our practice. This is primarily a client service/front desk position, but because we are a small, collaborative team, there will be times when you may also assist with patient care and support the medical team.

Previous veterinary experience and the ability to assist with patients are preferred, but your primary focus will be creating an exceptional experience for our clients—from the first phone call through the end of their visit.

We are looking for someone who values empathy first, teamwork over position, and understands that great communication is just as important as great medicine.

Who We Are: “Every pet has a story, and we want to be a part of it.”

Sheridan Pet Care Is a Locally Owned And Intentionally Independent Small Animal Practice Devoted To Caring For Dogs And Cats Through Every Stage Of Life. We Provide Comprehensive Services Including

  • Surgery
  • Advanced dentistry with full-mouth dental radiographs
  • Internal medicine
  • A fully equipped in-house lab and pharmacy
  • Both in-clinic and house-call appointments

We are committed to delivering exceptional medicine in a way that feels thoughtful and supportive. As we work toward AAHA and Fear Free certification, we focus on creating an environment where pets feel safe and clients feel heard.

Sheridan Pet Care is building something meaningful and sustainable. Our practice is grounded in kindness, transparency, teamwork, and shared success.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be client service and front desk support. You will help create a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for every client who interacts with Sheridan Pet Care.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
  • Welcoming clients and patients to the practice
  • Answering phones and responding to client texts and messages
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments
  • Helping clients navigate their visits with warmth and clear communication
  • Maintaining accurate client and patient information
  • Supporting efficient communication between clients and the medical team
  • Keeping the reception area organized and welcoming

Because we are a small team, flexibility is important. There may be times when you are asked to step away from the front desk and help our technicians and doctors with basic veterinary assisting duties. Depending on your experience and comfort level, this could include patient handling and restraint, preparing exam rooms, helping with laboratory tasks, maintaining treatment areas, and other general patient-care support.

Veterinary assisting will be a secondary part of this position—the CSR role will remain your primary focus.

Who You Are

We hire for character, emotional intelligence, and coachability. We can teach skills, but we’re looking for someone who brings drive, a strong work ethic, and an eagerness to grow.

You May Be a Great Fit If You
  • Have previous veterinary client service or veterinary assistant experience
  • Are comfortable assisting with patients when needed
  • Genuinely enjoy working with people and creating a positive client experience
  • Communicate clearly, kindly, and professionally
  • Stay organized and calm when things get busy
  • Are comfortable balancing multiple priorities
  • Value teamwork and are willing to jump in where needed
  • Take pride in creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere

Previous veterinary assisting experience is preferred, particularly in a small-practice environment where team members often help across roles. Fear Free handling experience is a plus. A willingness to learn is essential.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $19–$21 per hour based on experience
  • Paid time off
  • Pet care discounts
  • Compassionate, people-first leadership
  • Collaborative team meetings and shared growth
  • Intentional culture built to prevent burnout
  • Mental health workplace resources (CLEAR Blueprint)
  • Continuing education opportunities and paid CE days
  • Support for Fear Free certification and Human–Animal Bond training
  • Commitment to pursuing AAHA accreditation
  • Benefits designed to grow and expand as the practice grows
Why Sheridan Pet Care?

Culture is everything here. Clients feel seen and valued. Our team is supported and trusted. We are building a practice where relationships matter, communication is intentional, and everyone understands their role in creating an exceptional experience.

If you love working with people, understand the unique relationships that develop between veterinary teams and their clients, and are willing to pitch in with patient care when your team needs you, we would love to start a conversation.
