Client Service Coordinator – Banfield Pet Hospital, Framingham, MA

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION: The Client Service Coordinator (CSC) drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary medical team, ensures good communication, and coordinates care in an efficient and friendly manner to encourage client return and referral.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc.
• Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and direct the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity.
• Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive, efficiently run hospital to support wellness plan clients.
• Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, and educating them about their pet’s health.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services.
• Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history, using proper collars and tags, and ensuring prompt service.
• Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
• Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct administrative functions as necessary.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work at a computer for long periods.
• Confidence around various pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
• Hours may exceed 40 per week, including weekends and evenings.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and controlled substances.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 to perform duties involving radiography and exposure to radioactive substances.
• One year related experience required; customer service preferred.
• Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical) with medical terminology training preferred.

PAY RANGE

$16.16 - $20.66 per hour (rate determined by experience, skill level, and education).
