Earned is a hybrid-ROLE tax-smart advisory firm seeking a Client Manager to oversee healthcare practice clients, deliver tax and accounting services, and lead Senior Accountants. You will manage client relationships, ensure accurate tax returns, and guide a growing team within a collaborative environment.

The role requires CPA/IRS designation, 5–7 years of tax experience, and strong leadership. Competitive compensation, equity for growth, and a 2–3 day in-office schedule are offered.

Qualifications

  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation, or finance.
  • 5–7 years ref 1040s and entity tax returns for HNW clients.
  • Strong corporate taxation knowledge, especially S-Corporations.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client meetings to organize accounting and tax documents and provide guidance.
  • Review and finalize 1040s and entity tax returns.
  • Collaborate on annual financial and practice management reports for healthcare clients.
  • Provide setup and maintenance of QuickBooks for clients.

This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days in the office within a commutable distance.

Compensation Transparency

Salary: $120,000

Plus 10% bonus of fees collected

Job Summary

The Client Manager is responsible for managing client relationships and delivering tax services, accounting, and bookkeeping oversight to healthcare practice clients. This role is fully client-facing, oversees a portfolio of clients, and leads a team of Senior Accountants. The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of both client work and team leadership in a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client meetings based on the meeting schedule included in client’s Practice Service Package (in client’s office/ company office, remotely and by phone) to organize and review their accounting and tax documents and to provide meaningful tax and business guidance and planning.
  • Review and finalize entity and 1040 tax returns for practice owner clients.
  • Collaborate on the successful completion of various annual financial and practice management reports completed for healthcare practice clients, including our annual Overhead and Fee Analysis.
  • Provide guidance, set up and maintain QuickBooks software for clients, as needed.
  • Assist in the development and leadership of Senior Accountants and Bookkeepers; a act as resource to help other Preparers manage client relationships and address clients’ inquiries or issues.
  • Help build our healthcare practice business by assisting in marketing and promotional efforts; Represent Earned/Schwartz & Schwartz at various networking and marketing events as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients as needed to properly complete accounting and tax preparations and planning.
  • Respond to client inquiries in timely and professional manner according to firm policies.
  • Review, respond and resolve any IRS or state notices relating to clients.
  • Assist with additional tax and accounting work as delegated by partners.
Key Requirements
  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent designation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation, or finance
  • 5-7 years of experience reviewing individual 1040 and entity tax returns, financial statements and general accounting experience for HNW clients
  • Strong background in corporate taxation, specifically S-Corporations, and knowledge of their related basis issues
  • Leadership experience with a strong desire to mentor
  • Strong desire to work with a specific niche clientele of medical professionals and dentists and ability to learn the intricacies and specific tax related issues of these businesses/professions
  • Demonstrated experience working with tax software, specifically UltraTax beneficial
  • Experience working with QuickBooks software, including QuickBooks Online
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional and professional client service
  • Superior interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with the ability to work directly with clients
  • Desire to work in a team environment and grow with the firm
