Job summary

Smoker & Company LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Client Services team in Leola, SD. You will maintain client financial records, handle day-to-day bookkeeping, and support clients with accurate reporting and timely communications.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping, proficiency with QuickBooks Online/Desktop, and strong Excel skills. Travel to client locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and other accounting software to maintain live client records.
• Ability to independently manage bookkeeping responsibilities with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client financial records and bookkeeping processes.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts; address discrepancies.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable; manage invoices and payments.
• Support month-end and year-end closing and reporting.
• Communicate with clients by phone, email, and meetings; travel to client locations as needed.
• Support special bookkeeping projects and data organization.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
