Job summary

Accounting Search, based in Carlsbad, CA, seeks a Payroll Specialist to join its client-services payroll team in a hybrid role. This role focuses on understanding the payroll process beyond data entry and includes onboarding new clients as well as ongoing biweekly payroll processing.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with 2+ years of payroll experience, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and deliver proactive, white-glove service to clients while ensuring accurate and timely payroll

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience, including biweekly payroll processing.
• Experience receiving and reviewing client payroll data.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and calculations.
• Ability to identify and investigate discrepancies in payroll outputs.
• Experience troubleshooting payroll discrepancies and resolving client questions.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll processing for an assigned portfolio of clients, including biweekly payrolls.
• Receive, review, and validate payroll information submitted by clients.
• Understand how employee changes affect payroll outcomes.
• Review payroll reports for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Research and resolve payroll issues by finding root causes.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients.
• Provide a proactive, white-glove client experience and meet deadlines.
• Assist with onboarding and implementation of new payroll clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client issues.
