Job summary

Goldman Sachs seeks a skilled FIX Connectivity Engineer in New York, NY to manage end-to-end client onboarding for electronic trading via the FIX protocol. You will certify connectivity, configure networks, and support global clients, interfacing with Sales, Trading Desks, and vendor tech teams.

Responsibilities include handling production-ready onboarding, debugging FIX engine logs, and driving automation through internal tools.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of FIX Protocol and electronic trading workflows.
• Strong UNIX/Linux experience and proficiency in SQL and APIs for data analysis.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, TCP/IP, firewalls, and connectivity debugging tools.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a client-first mindset and ability to manage multiple onboarding projects in a fast-paced front-office environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical onboarding process for a diverse range of clients across DMA, high-touch, program trading, and Algorithmic Trading platforms.
• Conduct FIX certification testing to ensure client systems meet firm and exchange requirements.
• Coordinate setup and troubleshooting of network paths, firewalls, VPNs, and dedicated lines.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Sales, Trading Desks, and external vendor technology teams.
• Provide Level 2 support for client connectivity issues and analyze logs to resolve production hurdles.
• Identify opportunities to automate onboarding with internal tools, scripts, and automated testing frameworks.
• Manage deployment of client-specific configurations and rules within a distributed, high-availability environment.
