Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc is seeking an experienced Lead Java Software Engineer to start a new team and assume a client-facing AI Engineer role. The position focuses on building AI-powered solutions on AWS and requires collaboration with an English-speaking customer team.

You will apply strong Java skills (Java 21/25), work with Spring Boot and Spring AI, develop AI Agents, and drive innovation across projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with core Java development, including Java 21/25, Spring Boot, and Spring AI.
• Proficiency in AWS services (EKS, Lambda, DocumentDB, S3, Bedrock, EC2, StepFunction, SageMaker).
• Experience developing AI Agents and LLM prompting techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with an English-speaking customer team.
• Strong analytical and research skills; able to cooperate with Architecture teams.

Responsibilities

• Apply core Java skills to existing project infrastructure.
• Develop AI Agents using the customer's Agent Development Kit in Java.
• Collaborate with the customer's English-speaking team throughout the lifecycle.
• Drive AI-powered solutions on AWS infrastructure.
• Perform analytical work and research with Architecture team.
