Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in Boston, MA who blends technical depth with client-facing excellence. You will gather requirements, design solutions, and drive delivery across teams, translating technical tradeoffs into business value.

The role requires 5+ years in software/data/ML engineering, strong Python and SQL, cloud-native apps, and comfort speaking with executives. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software/Data/ML/solutions engineering or related Forward Deployed roles.
• Experience working directly with external customers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Experience leading customer discovery sessions and architecture discussions.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience building cloud-native apps, APIs, data pipelines, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Familiarity with AI tech (LLMs, RAG, AI agents) desirable.
• Ability to communicate with executives and engineers.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Bridge between external stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business needs into technical plans.
• Define requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver software that solves business problems.
• Lead conversations with executives, business leaders, and technical teams to align on outcomes.
• Communicate tradeoffs clearly and move between boardroom and code reliably.
