The Opportunity

We are seeking a Client Engagement Terms Analyst to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). The Client Engagement Terms Analyst plays an integral role in assisting the Firm in managing and responding to the evolving landscape of client‑driven requests and engagement terms, centrally involving Outside Counsel Guidelines (“OCG”), Due Diligence Questionnaires (“DDQ”), Requests for Proposal (“RFP”), and modifications to the Firm’s standard engagement letter. Working closely with both Firm management, partners, and relevant Firm department personnel, the Analyst will review and analyze documents and data, execute projects, and perform other functions related to maintaining and analyzing client relationships to meet the evolving needs of the Firm. This role is responsible for assisting with the end‑to‑end client contracting process, including intake of new client requests and terms, coordination of cross‑functional reviews, tracking of client contracts through execution, and ongoing internal reporting through the Firm’s Business Intake System (“BIS”). The Analyst will liaise directly with the Firm’s Partners, Client Engagement Committee members, and clients.

  • Analyze documents and data, interpret results, summarize findings and present to partners and management for effective decision making.
  • Review and analyze OCG and other client engagement terms such as master retention agreements, to identify relevant issues of concern to the Firm and draft internal and external facing responses related thereto.
  • Review and analyze DDQ and RFP, managing the collection of cross‑functional information, and drafting internal and external facing responses relating thereto.
  • Support the new business intake process by confirming operative OCG‑driven engagement terms through the BIS to facilitate conflicts of interest clearance and the drafting of Firm engagement letters.
  • Leverage available technology resources to assist in analysis of OCG and DDQ/RFP related assignments (e.g., A.I./Machine Learning; SQL‑based queries; Firm Dashboard).
  • Serve as resource and a central point of contact regarding OCG and DDQ/RFP related content.
  • Update departmental documentation relating to OCG and DDQ/RFP analysis.
  • Review documentation and create database records summarizing OCG‑related terms; perform ongoing maintenance of related database, including escalation of outstanding records.
  • Understand and respond to inquiries and requests made by attorneys, legal assistants and other business services professionals and demonstrate this understanding using effective communication.
  • Handle multiple client analysis projects and work closely with management, partners, and other Firm stakeholders across departments as needed to achieve the Firm’s objectives.
  • Liaise with various Firm personnel and administrative departments as necessary to complete assignments; maintain multiple touchpoints with the Client Accounting department to facilitate seamless coordination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of three years law firm/industry experience
  • Excellent close‑reading, analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems and actively interact with same (e.g., Aderant Expert, A.I., relational databases)
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to synthesize, interpret and summarize information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to use discretion, handle sensitive matters, maintain confidentiality and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
