Job summary

Cadre AI is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our client-facing team in San Diego. You’ll own the entire delivery—from discovery to production—embedding with clients to design, build, and ship AI systems that move revenue and reduce costs.

You’ll architect LLM/RAG pipelines, deploy end-to-end solutions, and mentor junior engineers while working across private equity, real estate, and SaaS engagements. This role blends strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building software with 2+ years in production AI/ML systems.
• Shipped LLM-powered products to real users with measurable impact.
• Hands-on with modern LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Embed with clients to map operations and identify AI use cases.
• Run discovery sessions, translate needs into architecture, scope and build.
• Present to C-suite and translate trade-offs into measurable outcomes.
• Manage client relationships as a trusted technical partner.
• Architect and deploy LLM/RAG pipelines and AI systems.
• Ensure data quality, ETL, and secure cloud deployments.
