The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, securing, and expanding new business opportunities within existing and prospective clients in Randstad's Professional Talent Solutions Division, focusing on our Accounting and Finance portfolio. The BDM employs professional, consultative, and proactive sales strategies, including referrals, social media, networking, and cold-calling. They maintain strong client relationships, stay informed about industry trends and competitors, and collaborate with upper management to develop and respond to new business opportunities. Additionally, the CDM develops and executes short- and long-term sales strategies, including detailed account plans and new account targets within their territory. They possess a deep understanding of their clients' operations, anticipate market changes, and leverage these insights for new business. The BDM also ensures accurate client information and activity tracking within company systems and performs other duties as necessary to advance the sales process.
What you will do:
- Generate gross profit (GP) through personal sales by selling segment orders within the market.
- Develop and implement effective sales plans to meet or exceed sales objectives for medium to large accounts.
- Build and maintain client relationships, promoting Randstad's leadership in staffing via phone calls, meetings, and networking events.
- Manage the sales process by maintaining a database of qualified contacts.
- Increase market share and revenue by acquiring new clients, expanding within existing accounts, and retaining current clients.
- Network locally to develop business, stay updated on industry trends, and use social media to promote our brand and attract candidates.
- Make formal sales presentations and follow-up to create new business opportunities within targeted accounts.
- Negotiate staffing agreements, contracts, and addendums, including pay and bill rates.
- Identify and qualify prospects for new business through channels like cold-calling, networking, social media, and referrals.
- Foster strategic alliances and collaborate internally for cross-selling opportunities.
- Stay informed on market demands, intelligence, and competitors, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of organizational services.
- Maintain sales and service KPIs at standard levels.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports and activity tracking to meet KPIs.
- Meet revenue, gross margin, and other financial targets.
Account Management responsibilities include:
- Communicating client expectations clearly to stakeholders.
- Collaborating with clients to develop staffing strategies aligned with market trends.
- Gaining a deep understanding of clients' businesses to advise internal teams and clients effectively.
- Building positive relationships to generate sales and expand business.
- Managing job order fulfillment in partnership with Talent Solutions Managers.
- Ensuring compliance with client-specific rules and onboarding procedures.
What you need to bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (highly preferred).
- CPA, CMA, CFA certifications (highly preferred).
- At least 3 years of business or staffing industry experience, specifically in F&A.
- At least 2 years of B2B sales experience.
- Previous experience in finance and accounting functions (bookkeeping, reporting, auditing, tax, analysis) is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Mail, calendars, and shared drives.
- Ability to recover from rejection with a positive attitude.
- Experience using social media and online platforms for relationship building and lead generation.
- Strong negotiation skills, time management, and ability to work in a metrics-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax laws, auditing, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Analytical, communicative, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of financial modeling.
- Adaptability, interpersonal skills, leadership, ethical behavior, and a commitment to continuous learning.
