Job summary

New Life Family Services in Minnesota is seeking a Client Care Nurse to provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, client education, and ongoing support to women and families receiving medical services through First Care. This is a full-time position at 32–40 hours weekly with a pay rate of $31.50 per hour.

The RN will perform ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatment, and maintain accurate clinical documentation, care plans, and orders.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Minnesota in good standing.
  • Minimum nursing experience preferred (1 year).
  • Experience in women’s health, obstetrics, lactation, or ultrasound preferred.

Responsibilities

  • CLIENT CARE: Ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatment; assess client needs and document care plans.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Maintain supplies, logs, and documentation; participate in education, teams, and audits.
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS: Promote a positive agency image and professional interactions with clients and partners.
  • OTHER: Perform additional duties as assigned, including coverage and accreditation activities.

Job description

The Client Care Nurse position helps fulfill New Life Family Services’ mission of assisting clients in life-affirming decisions with the love and compassion of Christ by providing compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, client education, and ongoing support to women and families receiving medical services through First Care.

HOURS:Full-time,32-40 hours/week

PAY RATE:$31.50/hour

Director of Nursing

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • CLIENT CARE: Perform ultrasounds, conduct pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatment, assess client needs, and make nursing judgments that reflect safe nursing practice. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, care plans, follow-up documentation, and continuity of care. Assure accurate implementation of physician orders, standing orders, and clinical protocols. Provide client education, lactation support as qualified, prenatal education, follow-up care, and other nursing services as assigned.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Maintain medical supplies, equipment, logs, and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Participate in orientation, annual competencies, continuing education, Nurse Huddles, departmental meetings, quality improvement activities, peer reviews, chart audits, and other organizational initiatives. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and survey-ready clinical environment. Regularly communicate with nursing leadership and office staff regarding patient care, documentation, and operational needs.
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS: Promote a positive agency image and represent First Care professionally through positive interactions with clients, healthcare providers, volunteers, community organizations, and referral partners. Participate in community education, outreach activities, and Ultrasound Live presentations as requested.
  • OTHER: Conduct other duties and responsibilities as assigned. This may include assisting with clinical coverage, office operations, organizational initiatives, education, and accreditation activities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • ADN or BSN accepted; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience in women’s health, obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, lactation, ultrasound, outpatient care, or pregnancy center medical services preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, and life-affirming care while maintaining professional nursing standards and client confidentiality.
STAFF EXPECTATIONS:
  • Attend all New Life Family Services fundraising events.
  • Attend weekly staff and prayer meetings.
  • Participate in appropriate workshops and training sessions to ensure continuing professional development.
  • Serve at community and church-related events representing New Life Family Services as needed.
  • Maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license and all required certifications applicable to the position.
  • Stay knowledgeable regarding New Life Family Services medical policies and procedures, evidence-based nursing practice, women’s health, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Complete all required continuing education, annual competencies, mandatory trainings, and competency validations within established timeframes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable standards and recommendations from AAAHC, Care Net, Heartbeat International, NIFLA, AWHONN, CDC, OSHA, AIUM, and other applicable professional organizations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, servant leadership, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement while supporting the mission of New Life Family Services.
  • Provide compassionate, life-affirming, patient-centered care while maintaining professional nursing standards, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
