Buchanan is seeking a Client Accounting Specialist to own billing and financial management for a portfolio of partner clients. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, and Finance leadership to manage complex billing and collections in a largely remote role with 1 day onsite.

Responsabilités

• Manage full billing lifecycle for an assigned portfolio: matter setup, prebills, invoices, adjustments, transfers, discounts, write-offs.
• Collaborate with attorneys and Finance on complex billing arrangements and collection strategies.
• Monitor client accounts, research billing discrepancies, maintain instructions and requirements.
• Use Aderant and other systems to analyze accounts and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Identify process improvements to enhance client and attorney experience.

Our client is a highly regarded global AmLaw firm recognized for its sophisticated client base, innovative approach, and collaborative culture. They are seeking a Client Accounting Specialist to join their Finance team and take ownership of the billing and financial management of an assigned portfolio of partner clients.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced legal billing professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys, clients, and Finance leadership while managing complex billing and collections matters.

This role will be mainly remote, requiring 1-day onsite. It can be located in NYC, D.C., Boston, Seattle, SF, Palo Alto, or Santa Monica.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full billing lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of clients, including matter setup, prebills, invoices, adjustments, transfers, discounts, and write-offs
• Partner directly with attorneys and Finance leadership on complex billing arrangements, aged WIP/AR, client disputes, and collection strategies
• Monitor client accounts, research and resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate billing instructions and client-specific requirements
• Leverage Aderant and other automated billing systems to analyze accounts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate and timely invoicing
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the overall client and attorney experience

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of legal billing/client accounting experience within a law firm environment
• Strong Aderant or comparable automated billing system experience
• Experience managing complex client accounts with a high degree of independence
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Confident communicator who enjoys partnering with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders
