Job summary

Sweeney Conrad is seeking a Client Accounting & Advisory Services Associate to support small and medium businesses and family offices in the Pacific Northwest. This full-time, hour-based role focuses on client accounting, payroll processing, and tax preparation.

You will manage a client portfolio, handle monthly closings, and collaborate with partners to deliver accurate financials. Strong communication and data analysis skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field required.
• 1-2 years of experience in client accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in public or outsourced accounting.
• Knowledge of AP/AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, and excise tax filings.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and ability to turn large data sets into clear information.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel, Word, and Outlook; quick learner of new software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with comfort interacting directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a portfolio of approximately 15 clients, working with Senior/Manager in a client-facing role.
• Perform monthly transactional accounting in QBO, including AP/AR, bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare and process payroll, plus quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting.
• Prepare and file state and city excise tax returns.
• Organize and analyze large client data sets for bookkeeping, payroll, and tax work.
• Maintain clean, accurate books across all assigned clients.
• Respond to client emails and calls promptly and professionally.
• Assist with month-end close and look for process improvements.
