Job summary

Sweeney Conrad, LLC. is seeking a Client Accounting & Advisory Services Associate to join the Pacific Northwest team in Kirkland, WA.

This full-time hourly role focuses on outsourced accounting for small and medium businesses and family offices, with emphasis on timely client communications and accuracy. The successful candidate will manage payroll, payroll tax reporting, and state/city tax filings using QuickBooks Online, Excel, Word, and Outlook, while collaborating with the Partner.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in accounting or related field.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficient in managing extensive data sets.
• Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
• Strong skills with QBO, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn various software applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Detail-oriented, organized, multitasker.

Responsibilities

• Monthly transactional accounting for A/P, A/R, bank and card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
• Prepare and complete payroll and payroll tax reporting.
• Prepare and complete state and city excise tax filings.
• Anticipate client needs and respond timeliness to inquiries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department managers.

Client Accounting & Advisory Services Associate

This position is part of our Client Accounting & Advisory Services group, which provides outsourced accounting services for small and medium companies and family offices, with focus on small and medium closely held businesses primarily throughout the Pacific Northwest. This is a full-time hourly role, with overtime generally limited to the month of January. This position reports directly to the Partner of the Client Accounting & Advisory Services Department.

Specific Duties Will Include

• Monthly transactional accounting for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Prepare and complete payroll, as well as quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting
• Prepare and complete state and city excise tax filings
• Anticipate client needs and respond timely and professionally to client emails/calls
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department managers

The successful candidate will have

• BA/BS in accounting or related field
• Deep understanding of accounting principles
• Proficient in managing extensive sets of data with ease
• Proficiency in critically assessing and analyzing financial statements
• Strong skills using QuickBooks Online (QBO), Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to learn various software applications
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once

While not required, the following skills would be considered an asset

• CPA designation preferred, but not required
• Experience using Bill.com, Paychex, and Expensify preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with Slack and Monday.com are preferred, but not required

The pay range for this role is $28.00/hr - $44.00/hr. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education, and/or skill level.
