Job Description

Summary of responsibilities:

The Clerk position is responsible for managing daily Mail Services activities, following the instructions of the Team Leader and according to the work schedule and customer requirements. The Clerk reports to the Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mail-related tasks under the supervision of the Team Leader.
  • Conduct timely mail runs according to the established schedule.
  • Process outgoing USPS mail with proper postage and packaging.
  • Handle priority UPS/FedEx outgoing packages, ensuring paperwork accuracy for on-time delivery.
  • Deliver copier paper to centralized copy rooms as needed.
  • Sort and process daily branch mail, adhering to the mail schedule.
  • Sort incoming mail accurately and promptly, following the Service Level Agreement.
  • Research unknown or unaddressed mail to ensure correct delivery.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering department phones and completing paperwork.
  • Inspect work-related equipment for safety and operation; report damages and follow up.
  • Assist customers and respond to inquiries to maintain high customer service standards.
  • Gather production data, meter reads, and charge-back information for monthly reports.
  • Participate in safety inspections and job-related training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • No prior mailroom experience required.
  • Ability to operate manual, electric, and motorized cart pallet jacks.
