Job description

Waits on customers in a prompt, courteous, accurate, and efficient manner, uses suggestive selling, and maintains high-quality customer relations.

Prepares, handles, stocks, and/or stores all department products.

Rotates all department products on a first-in / first-out basis.

Ensures all products are stored in proper refrigeration.

Stocks products within the guidelines established by the department manager.

Follows the regular cleaning schedule for equipment and cases.

Is familiar with equipment operation, including scales and slicers.

Understands weights and measures standards and the proper use of containers and packaging materials.

Performs price changes as requested.

Operates stock dollies, mixing machines, slicers, ovens, scales, fryers, pricing equipment, and uses knives and case cutters.

Provides verbal and physical assistance to customers.

Follows recipes and keeps company recipes confidential.

Performs freshness checks and reconditions products as needed.

Operates hydraulic baler.

Performs sweeping, mopping, and cleaning functions.

Operates telephones and intercoms, practicing proper telephone etiquette.

Follows all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of lifting and stacking up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach and stock products up to 6 ft. high.
