Job summary

The City of New York, Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), is recruiting for a Clerical Associate III to function as the Scheduling Unit Supervisor. This role will supervise clerical staff, manage work assignments, and ensure coverage for all clerical activities.

Under the Office Manager, you will use systems like FRED, NYCWAY, ASSETS, WMS, ECFS, and CS TRACK, handle inquiries, compile reports, and train staff while maintaining accurate rosters and inventory controls.

Qualifications

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
  • This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program; indicate interest on resume/cover letter.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule work assignments to all clerical support staff; ensures coverage for all clerical activities.
  • Review and update client appointments and walk-ins using systems such as FRED, NYCWAY, ASSETS, WMS, ECFS, CS TRACK, etc.; conduct scanning/indexing as needed.
  • Answer and respond to telephone calls regarding scheduled appointments, sanctions and inquiries; refer callers to other departments as appropriate.
  • Process hard and electronic mail & faxes, including CS Track; maintain daily/weekly statistics and rosters for case management.
  • Provide staff training and feedback on policies/procedures; monitor time and leave and rate subordinates' performance.
  • Assist with office inventory and materials; support annual inventory protocol; provide coverage for clerical tasks as needed.
