Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for the Files, Edge, and Data Streams (FEDS) team in Denver. You will help build and operate scalable cloud services, including SQS, Kinesis Data Streams, and related data platforms, supporting government workloads.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting at scale, developing new features, and delivering reliable, secure solutions while collaborating with senior engineers and customers. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP.
• 1+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Investigate root cause of customer issues and optimize metrics.
• Design and build features for services like SQS, Kinesis, Flink and Kafka.
• Support government customers and ensure secure cloud operations.
• Provide on-call support and write after-action reports.
