Job summary

Allied Universal in Durham, NC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to protect aerospace and defense facilities, monitor access, and deliver courteous service to personnel, visitors, and contractors.

You will perform regular patrols, respond to alarms, document activities, and maintain a calm, professional presence to deter security-related issues.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, background investigation will be conducted.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of aerospace and defense facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and document activity accordingly.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify site contacts and responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.

Pay Rate: $21.84 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of aerospace and defense facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
