Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Cleared Senior/Principal R&D Systems Engineer as the Pantex Integration Lead. You will guide systems engineering efforts across Pantex readiness, interfacing with DoD, Navy, and NNSA customers to ensure successful integration of DOE systems into service.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, DOE Q clearance, and willingness to travel to Pantex/Amarillo, NM, Albuquerque, NM, and other sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent and ability to obtain sigma 15 which may require polygraph testing.
• Graduate degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
• Experience with Nuclear Security Enterprise laboratories and plants (Pantex, KCNSC, LLNL, KCNSC/NMO).
• Experience in engineering design, qualification, production, or related modeling/simulation projects.
• Two or more years of demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong communication and cross-site collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the main point of contact for Weapon Production programs (W76-1/2 939, W88 ALT 940, MTAD integration).
• Author and improve Product Specifications and related documents.
• Collaborate with Weapons/Production agencies and counterparts on process improvements.
• Support inter-site logistics planning and ensure production readiness.
• Provide status briefings to NNSA and DOD partners.
• Monitor and support components shipped to Pantex for production.
• Coordinate with LANL to ensure high production readiness and problem solving.
• Update management on production and First Production Unit status.
• Provide system expertise to minimize production interruptions at Pantex.
