Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Cleared Engineering Operations Technician in Ohio to operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure. The role involves mechanical and electrical equipment, daily rounds, and 12‑hour rotating shifts, with strict safety adherence and on‑site responsibilities.

Required are 2+ years of relevant experience and a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. A bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred, with data center experience

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of network design and low‑voltage cabling.
• Data center engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment (generators, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs).
• Troubleshoot facility‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks (filters, HVAC, rack power installs).
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Work 12‑hour shifts on rotating schedules (days/nights).
• Take daily readings (temperatures, voltages, currents).
• Use CMMS to manage builds and spare parts.
