Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking a Cleared Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician to support Navy/NMCI network infrastructure across the National Capital Region, with travel up to 20%. The role is hands-on, focusing on copper and fiber cabling, installation, termination, labeling, and testing in IDF/MDF environments.

The position requires working at government sites, installing patch panels and cabinets, and performing basic power work from panels to cabinets, including breaker and receptacle

Qualifications

• Hands-on field cabling work with copper and fiber.
• Ability to install/terminate/test cabling in IDF/MDF environments.
• Use test equipment like Fluke for validation.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, dress, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling.
• Install and support patch panels, wire managers, and cabinets.
• Perform basic power work from panels to cabinets, including breaker/receptacle installation.
• Install UPS units and PDUs in communications cabinets.
• Use copper and fiber test equipment (Fluke or equivalent).
• Maintain clean, organized, standards-based cabling work.
• Support IDF/MDF and other communications-space buildouts.
• Work independently at government customer sites and meet installation schedules.
• Provide field updates, test results, labeling information, and closeout documentation.
