Job summary

Bestgate Engineering, LLC is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to manage Kubernetes clusters and enterprise infrastructure. The role emphasizes Linux admin, network design, and secure, automated deployment pipelines across hybrid cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years delivering with DevSecOps practices, hands-on Kubernetes recently, and active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance. A Master’s degree is preferred; Gov contracting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of deployments, Linux admin, cloud, and DevSecOps.
• Recent hands-on with Kubernetes and containerization (last 3 years).
• Strong Linux admin/troubleshooting (RHEL/CentOS).
• Experience with LAN/WAN and network devices (Arista/Cisco).
• Docker/Kubernetes for software deployment and HA clustering.
• Python and Bash scripting; CI/CD with Jenkins or GitLab.
• IaC using Ansible or Terraform; security-conscious design.
• Active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance; CCNA certification.
• Bachelor's degree; Master’s preferred; hybrid cloud exp.
• System integration, testing, and deployment across complex networks.

DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes

Summary

Join a mission-focused engineering team supporting complex enterprise systems and infrastructure. This role combines Linux systems administration, networking, cloud, containerization, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps to deploy, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically versatile, and comfortable working across infrastructure, automation, and network environments.

Required

• 12+ years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps.
• Recent hands-on experience within the last 3 years with Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, and containerization.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience, preferably RHEL/CentOS.
• Experience with network design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Experience administering LAN/CAN/WAN environments.
• Experience with both Arista and Cisco network devices.
• Experience configuring and optimizing networks connecting front-end and back-end systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for software deployment.
• Experience managing and configuring Kubernetes clusters for high availability, scalability, and security.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using Ansible or Terraform.
• Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) and CCNA certification.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional TE or related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
• Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
