Sunfire Solutions in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Cleared Data Scientist / AI Software Engineer with TS/SCI to join a fast-moving engineering team. This expert role focuses on training, testing, and maintaining big-data analysis solutions for government and commercial clients, working closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical designs.

You will code primarily, design scalable architectures, mentor junior engineers, and drive automation and DevOps improvements.

Competenze

• 10+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of AI/ML or data science R&D experience.
• Experience with ML tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and databases.
• TS/SCI security clearance (and active poly) required or in process.

Description

We are looking for talented AI/ML Software Engineers and Data Scientists with TS/SCI security clearance (and active poly) to train, test, and maintain big-data analysis solutions for our clients. You will work closely with stakeholders and management to gather requirements and domain insights, take the lead on technical challenges, and mentor junior team members. In this role, you should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, stay organized, and provide detailed technical analysis.

What you will be doing:

• This is primarily an engineering role, so expect to spend the majority of your time coding, analyzing data, and providing technical solutions with a team of engineers.
• Writing clean, professional code, and encouraging others to do the same
• Designing technical solutions given broadly scoped requirements
• Identifying appropriate technologies / stacks to use to meet clients needs
• Streamlining technical processes when necessary for automation / devops
• Troubleshooting and debugging technical issues
• Sharing technical knowledge with other developers

What you will not be doing:

• Spending your days writing user documentation, or designing powerpoint slides
• Simply installing and integrating COTS products
• Working with stagnant technologies
• Writing status reports or justifying career-goal metrics

Technical Skills:

• 10+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience
• 5+ years of AI/ML, or Data Science R&D experience
• Experience with Machine Learning tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn)
• Significant experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Knowledge of OO design patterns and software architectural patterns
• Experience with web-based communication elements (REST, GraphQL)
• Familiarity with linux operating systems
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud deployments

What you’ll need:

• Active US Government Security Clearance (TS/SCI with active poly)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Willingness to take on challenges and learn new things
• Desire to be at the forefront of your field
• Ability to work individually or in groups
• BS/BA in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
