Job summary

GDI Services Inc. in Detroit is seeking a Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning staff and ensure quality for our clients while upholding company standards.

You will train and coach teammates on cleaning procedures, operate equipment, manage tasks, monitor supplies, and document inspections and safety.

Candidates need 1–2 years of supervisory cleaning experience, knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of commercial cleaning experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and industry best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned cleaning staff.
• Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, and waste removal.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and client expectations.
• Train, coach, and support team members on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
• Assign tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and within scheduled timeframes.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and report replenishment needs.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Address employee performance issues and communicate concerns or recommendations to management.
• Respond promptly to client requests and resolve service-related issues professionally.
• Complete required reports, inspections, and documentation accurately and on time.
• Assist with special projects, floor care, and deep-cleaning activities as needed.
