Job summary

GDI Services Inc. is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations at our Detroit site. You will supervise staff, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinate tasks to meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of commercial cleaning experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage schedules, equipment, and supplies efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of commercial cleaning experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and industry best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of cleaning staff.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Train, coach, and support team members on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and safety.
• Assign tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and within scheduled timeframes.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and report replenishment needs.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following policies and OSHA regulations.
• Address employee performance issues and communicate concerns to management.
• Respond promptly to client requests and resolve service-related issues professionally.
• Complete required reports, inspections, and documentation accurately.
• Assist with special projects, floor care, and deep-cleaning activities as needed.
