Job summary

Fergus Falls is seeking a reliable, full-time Property Cleaner / Light Maintenance Technician to maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of rental properties. The role includes cleaning interiors between tenants, hallways, common areas, and exterior spaces, plus light maintenance tasks to keep properties ready for tenants.

Responsibilities include deep cleaning of high-traffic areas, replacing bulbs, stocking supplies, and reporting maintenance issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential or commercial cleaning preferred; light maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between properties.
• Physically able to perform cleaning and light maintenance tasks (standing, bending, lifting up to 40–50 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders as needed).
• Flexible schedule to accommodate unit turnovers and property needs.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean rental units between tenants (including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows, appliances, cabinets, and fixtures).
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, entryways, laundry rooms, and other common areas on a regular schedule.
• Clean and maintain exterior areas (entryways, sidewalks, patios, parking areas, and building exteriors as needed).
• Empty trash, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Perform minor painting touch-ups (walls, trim, doors); replace light bulbs and detectors batteries.
• Manage and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies; track inventory and notify management when reordering is needed.
• Report larger maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with basic unit readiness tasks (e.g., checking locks, ensuring units are presentable).
• Follow property schedules and prioritize unit turnovers to minimize vacancy time.
• Maintain a professional appearance and respectful interaction with tenants and vendors.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company standards.
• Keep accurate records of work completed when required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of our rental properties. This full-time role is responsible for cleaning interiors of rental units (including turnovers), hallways, common areas, and exterior spaces, as well as performing light maintenance tasks to keep properties in good condition and ready for tenants.

Primary Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties

• Thoroughly clean rental units between tenants (including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows, appliances, cabinets, and fixtures)
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, entryways, laundry rooms, and other common areas on a regular schedule
• Clean and maintain exterior areas (entryways, sidewalks, patios, parking areas, and building exteriors as needed)
• Empty trash, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal
• Perform periodic deep cleaning of high-traffic or neglected areas

Light Maintenance Duties

• Perform minor painting touch-ups (walls, trim, doors)
• Replace light bulbs, batteries in smoke/CO detectors, and similar items
• Manage and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies; track inventory and notify management when reordering is needed
• Report larger maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
• Assist with basic unit readiness tasks (e.g., checking locks, ensuring units are presentable)
• Follow property schedules and prioritize unit turnovers to minimize vacancy time
• Maintain a professional appearance and respectful interaction with tenants and vendors
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company standards
• Keep accurate records of work completed when required

Qualifications (Not all Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-unit or rental property settings
• Basic handyman skills (painting, minor repairs, supply organization)
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for different surfaces and materials

Compensation

Experience depending, starting around $18 per hour, currently no benefits. Likely to change but not guaranteed.
