The job
About the role
Learn professional cleaning through supervised work, practical feedback and Tablerock's documented methods. First-job applicants are welcome. You'll learn to clean safely, protect customer property, follow service checklists and keep accurate job records.
You work alongside a cleared cleaner who demonstrates tasks and checks your work, and a manager decides when you're ready to work independently. It's the first step on Tablerock's path from Trainee to Cleaner to Team Lead.
What you'll do
- Review each assigned job with your training partner: the service, rooms, approved add-ons, access instructions, pets, special surfaces, and anything the customer has asked us not to touch or clean.
- Learn and perform kitchen, bathroom, dusting, floor, glass and other household cleaning tasks. Practice the approved room-by-room sequence and correct your work after feedback.
- Learn to match products and tools to surfaces, read labels and dilution instructions, use required protection, and protect customers' finishes and belongings.
- Follow Tablerock's color-coded cloth system, keep dirty supplies separate, use fresh scrub pads as required, and clean and disinfect brushes, totes and reusable supplies between homes.
- Use the employee portal for assignments, check-in and check-out, accurate time records, checklists, required photos and factual job notes. Tell the office promptly if a device or connection fails.
- Report damage, unsafe conditions, access problems, unclear instructions and requests for extra work. Ask before trying an unfamiliar product, surface or method.
- Take part in final walkthroughs, return supplies, correct missed work within the assignment, and follow the property's pet, access and lockup instructions.
Extra work, pricing and customer commitments go through the office.
What good work looks like
You follow the taught method, protect the customer and property, record what actually happened, ask before guessing, and put feedback into practice. Readiness shows in safe, reliable work and accurate records.
Working conditions
- On-site work in customer homes alongside a cleared cleaner during training: extended standing, bending, kneeling, stairs, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 40 pounds occasionally, around pets, dust, wet floors and customers.
- Tablerock provides required protective equipment, such as gloves and eye protection, at no cost, and trains you on the products you use.
- The employee portal runs on your personal smartphone; Tablerock does not currently provide a field phone or a phone or data stipend. Location is captured at check-in and check-out. It is not tracked continuously or while you are off the clock.
- Travel time between jobs during the workday is paid working time.
- Your safety comes before finishing a job. You may stop unsafe work, and if you ever feel unsafe, leave and contact the office.
- Driving assignments require a valid driver's license, current personal auto insurance and Tablerock's safe-driving practices.
What you need
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to assigned jobs.
- A personal smartphone with a camera, location services and a data connection, and the ability to use it for the portal, directions, photos and communication.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ask questions, accept feedback and communicate clearly.
- Reliability, honesty and discretion when working in private homes.
- Ability to perform the role's essential physical functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Helpful but not required: comfort with mobile apps and attention to detail. No previous job or cleaning experience is needed.
How hiring works
Hiring
First job? You're welcome here. Tablerock hires on job-related skills and willingness to learn, provides reasonable accommodations, and prohibits discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Offers are subject to job-related screening and onboarding documents. Background checks require your separate written authorization, and a criminal record does not automatically disqualify you; it is considered individually for its relevance to the work.
