Job summary

Coldspring is seeking a dedicated Cleaner to support production staff in the Foundry by maintaining clean, safe, and presentable work areas. The role is full-time with early morning hours, Monday through Thursday from 5am to 2pm and Friday from 5am to 11am, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning products.
• Ability to switch between tasks to avoid production interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Dust and clean surfaces and locations on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
• Sweep under machines and designated areas with a hand broom; bend as required.
• Empty trash, wipe can tops, and clean surrounding walls on the production floor.
• Keep exterior doorways clean and debris-free.
• Clean windows in lab, conference rooms, lunchroom, and doorways.
• Clean scoreboards, signs, spill kits, and eye wash stations with appropriate solutions.
• Operate an industrial walk-behind sweeper daily or as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness under stairs and mezzanine; mop as needed.
• Complete daily maintenance checklists and dusting on lifts.
• Clean designated areas like maintenance cage and electrical rooms on schedule.
• Notify management of any repairs that may be required.

JOB SUMMARY: The Cleaner is responsible for complimenting the routine cleaning efforts of production staff in the Foundry by maintaining the cleanliness of shared and public areas as a means to promote safe, efficient, and presentable operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Dust and clean a variety of surfaces and locations on a scheduled or as needed basis; includes, but not limited to, walls, floors, tops of cabinets, electric panels, fire extinguisher boxes, safety poles, PVC piping, stair and mezzanine railings, holding tanks, storage shelves, safety placards, tunnel covers, etc.
• Sweep under various machines and in specified areas with a hand broom; requires a significant amount of bending.
• Empty trash cans and wipe tops of trash cans and walls around them in specified areas on the production floor.
• Keep exterior doorways clean, free of spider webs and debris.
• Clean windows in the sand lab, conference room, lunchroom, and in doors of all areas.
• Clean all Foundry scoreboards, laminated signs, spill kits and eye wash stations with the appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Use an industrial, walk-behind sweeper at the end of each day (or as required) to sweep the appropriate production areas.
• Ensure areas under the stairs are kept free of dirt and debris.
• Mop under stairs and mezzanine as needed.
• Complete daily maintenance checklist, including dusting, on man lift.
• Clean specified areas (i.e. maintenance cage, electrical room and sand lab, etc.) as scheduled.
• Notify management of any repairs that may be required.

Requirements

• General knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, as well as cleaning products, including appropriate mixing and disposal techniques.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
• Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
• General math skills.
• Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
