Job summary

Coldspring in Minnesota is seeking a Cleaner to support the Foundry team. This full-time, hourly role focuses on maintaining cleanliness of production areas and shared spaces to promote safe, efficient operations. Your duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, trash removal, and routine maintenance checks, with overtime as needed.

Monday-Thursday 5am-2pm, Friday 5am-11am. A comprehensive benefits package is offered to full-time employees, including health, dental, optical, 401K

Qualifications

• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and proper chemical use.
• Ability to switch between tasks without sacrificing safety or quality.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow daily checklists.

Responsibilities

• Dust and clean surfaces, walls, floors, and equipment in production areas.
• Sweep under machines and in designated zones; frequent bending required.
• Empty trash and sanitize trash areas on the floor.
• Maintain exterior doorways, windows, and signage cleanliness.
• Wipe and clean foundry scoreboards, eye wash stations, and spill kits.
• Operate a walk-behind sweeper at end of day as needed.
• Keep under-stair and mezzanine areas free of dirt.
• Complete daily maintenance checklists and report repairs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cleaner is responsible for complimenting the routine cleaning efforts of production staff in the Foundry by maintaining the cleanliness of shared and public areas as a means to promote safe, efficient, and presentable operations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Dust and clean a variety of surfaces and locations on a scheduled or as needed basis; includes, but not limited to, walls, floors, tops of cabinets, electric panels, fire extinguisher boxes, safety poles, PVC piping, stair and mezzanine railings, holding tanks, storage shelves, safety placards, tunnel covers, etc.
• Sweep under various machines and in specified areas with a hand broom; requires a significant amount of bending.
• Empty trash cans and wipe tops of trash cans and walls around them in specified areas on the production floor.
• Keep exterior doorways clean, free of spider webs and debris.
• Clean windows in the sand lab, conference room, lunchroom, and in doors of all areas.
• Clean all Foundry scoreboards, laminated signs, spill kits and eye wash stations with the appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Use an industrial, walk-behind sweeper at the end of each day (or as required) to sweep the appropriate production areas.
• Ensure areas under the stairs are kept free of dirt and debris.
• Mop under stairs and mezzanine as needed.
• Complete daily maintenance checklist, including dusting, on man lift.
• Clean specified areas (i.e. maintenance cage, electrical room and sand lab, etc.) as scheduled.
• Notify management of any repairs that may be required.

Requirements

• General knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, as well as cleaning products, including appropriate mixing and disposal techniques.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
• Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
• General math skills.
• Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
