Job summary

Conifer Realty in East Patchogue is looking for a full-time Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and appeal of our community spaces. You will be responsible for routine cleaning of common areas, assisting maintenance staff, and ensuring a safe environment for residents and guests.

Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 40hrs

Responsibilities

• Keep common areas spotless — sweep, mop, vacuum, polish, and disinfect throughout hallways, laundry rooms, restrooms, and community spaces.
• Maintain curb appeal — help with groundskeeping, trash removal, and light outdoor tasks as assigned.
• Support the team — assist maintenance staff with apartment clean-outs, light painting, bulb changes, and basic upkeep.
• Prioritize safety — follow proper storage and handling of cleaning materials and report any maintenance or environmental issues immediately.
• Show care — ensure residents and guests always experience a clean, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of custodial or janitorial experience (apartment or facility cleaning a plus).
• Knowledge of cleaning products, safety procedures, and environmental hazards.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills to interact with residents, visitors, and team members.
• Time‑management skills and ability to shift tasks as priorities change.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance for scheduled shifts.
• OSHA or hazardous materials training a plus, with ongoing safety training provided.
