Conifer Realty is hiring a Cleaner for affordable housing in Rochester, NY. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (40 hours) with a pay range of $18.00–$20.00 per hour. You will maintain clean, welcoming spaces across communities and support residents and staff through reliable custodial work.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of custodial or janitorial experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, safety procedures, and environmental hazards.
• Good communication and customer-service skills with residents, visitors, and team.

• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• OSHA or hazardous materials training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep common areas spotless: sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect.
• Maintain curb appeal: groundskeeping and light outdoor tasks.
• Support the team with brief clean-outs and basic upkeep.
• Prioritize safety: proper storage and handling of cleaning materials.

What You Bring As a Cleaner

You’re someone who sees the details that make a home feel cared for.

You bring:

• 1+ years of custodial or janitorial experience (apartment or facility cleaning a plus).

How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Cleaner, you’re essential to maintaining the heart of our community.

Each day, you’ll:

• Keep common areas spotless — sweep, mop, vacuum, polish, and disinfect throughout hallways, laundry rooms, restrooms and community spaces.
• Maintain curb appeal — help with groundskeeping, trash removal, and light outdoor tasks as assigned.
• Support the team — assist maintenance staff with apartment clean-outs, light painting, bulb changes, and basic upkeep.
• Prioritize safety — follow proper storage and handling of cleaning materials and report any maintenance or environmental issues immediately.
• Show care — ensure residents and guests always experience a clean, welcoming environment.
