Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs CHYVAMC Community Living Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and supervise comprehensive nursing care for veterans in the CLC.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accrediting bodies (ACEN or CCNE)

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process in direct patient care
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components
• Coordinate care focusing on patient education, self-management, and satisfaction
• Administer medications and procedures per policies/guidelines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes
• Provide leadership and support to nursing staff on the unit
• Collaborate in development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures
• Foster a safe, home-like environment and promote residents' rights
• Participate in infection control, wound monitoring, staffing methodology, and IDTT meetings
• Coordinate with MDS coordinator to ensure accuracy of RUG score
