Pecos Cyber Academy is seeking a Language Arts Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Pecos Cyber Academy is a Virtual School where the employees and students work remotely from their home – the Language Arts Teacher must reside in New Mexico and have a current NM License for the grades and content taught. Teachers MUST reside in New Mexico and the US.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Must have a current NM Public Education Department Secondary Level Teaching License with a Language Arts endorsement. The Language Arts teacher will provide instructional experiences that are academically and developmentally appropriate and will enable a successful learning experience for students at the secondary level. Candidates with additional endorsements are preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide instruction at the high school using large-group, small-group, and individualized instruction in a technology-rich classroom
• Provide multiple opportunities for students to revise work and improve understanding • Design, plan, and implement lessons based on school district/state/national standards • Measure student progress to encourage the mastery of school district/state/national standards
• Create appealing lessons that implement a variety of methodologies
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources for each area taught • Cultivate student awareness and ownership of personal performance
• Work productively as part of a team in an inclusion setting
• Communicate accurately and effectively in the content area and maintain a professional rapport with all stakeholders
• Modify existing curriculum and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and cultural backgrounds
• Stay current with best practices in accordance with IEPs, 504, and SAT modifications and accommodations
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are made for the growth and development of all students
• Ensure the Live Lesson environment is clean, safe and constructive for all students • Strong reading, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
• Evaluate student progress and keep appropriate records
• Utilize student assessment techniques and procedures to guide instruction • Obtain feedback from and communicate with students and families in a manner that enhances student learning and understanding
• Recognize student diversity and creates an atmosphere conducive to the promotion of student involvement and self-concept
• Demonstrates a willingness to examine and implement change, as appropriate • Follow policies, administrative rules and regulations, and directives from the direct supervisor
• Follows the chain-of-command in all situations
• Manage time appropriate while working in a virtual setting; must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
• Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
• Technology skills and knowledge of supplemental technology is preferred • Be willing to travel occasionally and test students for the ACCESS, SAT, and other state mandated tests
• Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work calendar established yearly by the PCA HR.
