Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a Teaching Assistant, Level 2 on a non-contract basis to support classroom instruction across various subjects and to assist in implementing behavior modification programs. The role includes clerical duties and monitoring student performance under supervision.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or 60 quarter hours/48 semester hours (or completion of specific coursework) and passing para pro praxis exam. This is a part-time, hourly-paid position in Utah.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associates Degree or 60 quarter hours/48 semester hours or successful completion of courses in English, mathematics through geometry and algebra, chemistry, physical science, computer entry and retrieval, health and social studies or have passed para pro praxis exam.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under supervision to support and reinforce objectives.
• Administer assignments, tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist in improving students' learning skills, self-care, and social development.
• Prepare and present instructional materials to reinforce learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed about job functions.
• Communicate progress of assigned students with teachers for needs assessments.
• Document observations of student performance for records and mandated requirements.
• Guide special education students in personal interactions to develop interpersonal skills.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under supervision.
• Maintain manuals and electronic records for reference and compliance.
• Monitor student performance under teacher direction to provide feedback.
• Obtain homework at different academic levels to address classroom requirements.
• Support teachers and school staff in curriculum and teaching methods.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Report incidents related to students for communication to staff.
