Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering instruction and maintaining a safe, well-organized classroom environment in our schools. You will help prepare materials, set up activities, and supervise students during instructional time and in common areas.

The role involves reinforcing lessons, assisting students including those with special needs, and coordinating tasks as assigned. CPR and First Aid certification is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associates Degree or 2 years of college.
• ParaPro Assessment Test passing score preferred.
• 1 year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructing and supervising students.
• Prepare instructional materials and classrooms for activities.
• Supervise and assist children in the classroom and other areas of the school.
• Reinforce classroom lessons and provide other assistance as requested.
