Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a classroom support professional to assist teachers with instructional activities, prepare materials, and help supervise students in the classroom and other areas. This role emphasizes reinforcing lessons, assisting with special projects, and supporting special needs students as needed.

The position requires an Associate's degree or 48 college hours, or eligible ParaPro score, plus CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree or 48 college hours or ParaPro score.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Must obtain the Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) within two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructing and supervising student activities.
• Prepare instructional materials and classrooms for activities.
• Supervise and assist children in classroom and other school areas.
• Reinforce classroom lessons and provide requested assistance.
• May assist special needs students or coordinate special projects as assigned.
